Minister for animal husbandry and dairy development Dharmpal Singh issued directions in this regard during the review of the Nand Baba Milk Mission here on Wednesday.
The state dairy development department will set up new milk committees, one each in all development blocks, over the next three months to provide dairy farmers with the facility to sell milk at a fair price in their villages.

He also directed officials to prepare a scheme to set up dairy units, each comprising 25 good quality indigenous cows, to enhance the famers’ income and make them self-employed.
The Nand Baba Milk Mission, he said, was the government’s ambitious scheme to ramp up milk production and enhance the income of farmers in the state. He asked officials to make a plan for revival of defunct milk committees after a survey.
