Wish to advance cooperation with UP in green hydrogen: Yamanashi governor

Japan’s Yamanashi Prefecture governor Kotaro Nagasaki on Sunday said Uttar Pradesh and Yamanashi would deepen cooperation in green hydrogen and other key sectors, with a focus on using energy security to contribute to world peace.

He said the visit to Kashi had also given him a sense of the devotion of the people towards God. “By coming here, one can clearly feel the devotion and respect that all of you have towards God. I too have prayed here for world peace,” he said.

A sub-divisional magistrate of the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust said the Japanese guests were welcomed with Rudraksha rosaries and angavastras upon their arrival. Devotees welcomed the Japanese guests with chants of “Har Har Mahadev”, and members of the delegation also joined them in chanting the slogan.
The Japanese delegation appreciated the arrangements made by the government for the convenience and safety of devotees, particularly crowd management.
The delegation observed the harmony between Kashi’s spiritual heritage and modern development and praised the arrangements made for devotees.
Earlier on Saturday, the Japanese delegation visited Sarnath and participated in the Ganga Aarti in the evening.
After the Kashi Vishwanath Temple visit on Sunday, the Japanese delegation departed from Varanasi. The delegation, comprising more than 200 members, has come to India under the UP-Japan Investment Meet-2026. Several MoUs related to investment and bilateral cooperation were also signed between the Uttar Pradesh government and the Japanese delegation in Lucknow.
