All speed breakers to get redesigned in Greater Noida
GREATER NOIDA: The Greater Noida authority has decided to redesign all speed breakers in the city with a ₹2 crore budget
GREATER NOIDA: The Greater Noida authority has decided to redesign all speed breakers in the city with a ₹2 crore budget . The move follows demands raised by residents citing faulty designs which caused more accidents, especially involving motorbikes.

“We have decided to not only replace the faulty designs, but also paint traffic warning signs on them for road safety. Work on the project has already commenced and other road safety measured will be implemented on main and smaller key roads,” said Surendra Singh, chief executive officer, Greater Noida authority.
The authority, however, does not have any data on accidents caused by faulty speed breakers, officials said.
The authority aims to complete the project over the next 2-3 months.“We have directed the staff to remove all unscientific speed breakers and construct new ones in line with road safety regulations. They will also paint these areas so that the motorists are alerted while negotiating traffic. We have also asked staff to paint zebra crossings, and pedestrian space on all key roads,” said Singh.
Most of the complaints mention Dadri Road, Pari Chowk-P3 Road, and the 130-metre road, along with some internal roads in the city.
“The Surajpur-Kasna road has speed breakers without white paint, making it difficult for bikers to spot while driving. Also, in the absence of a pedestrians walkway painted on this main road, people travelling on foot are highly inconvenienced. We have been demanding changes for a while, but nothing happened. We hope the work will be completed at the earliest now,” said Alok Singh, founder member, Active Citizen Team, a residents’ group.
