Ludhiana: Miscreants blind liquor vend employees with chilli powder, flee with ₹32K
The Ludhiana have seized the bike of the accused which they left on the roadside while escaping after the shawl of one of the accused had stuck in the rear wheel of the bike. The accused robbed the employees of the liquor vend when they were counting cash
Two miscreants on Monday robbed the employees of a liquor vend, in Sudhar village, of ₹32,000 after throwing chilli powder into their eyes while they were counting cash.
The police have seized the bike of the accused which they left on the roadside while escaping after the shawl of one of the accused had stuck in the rear wheel of the bike.
The complainant, Gurpreet Singh of Haibowal Kalan, said he had collected the amount from a liquor vend in Dago village on Saturday night, after which he went to the vend in Sudhar village and asked the employee, Sukhma, to count the cash.
“Around 10.40pm, two motorcycle-borne men— one wearing a turban, another clean shaven— turned up there and threw chilli powder into their eyes and robbed the cash.” he said.
Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Rajdeep Singh, the investigating officer, said the police had initiated investigation to trace the accused immediately after receiving the complaint, but as the incident occurred during night hours, the footage of CCTV camera was not clear due to which the accused are unidentified yet.
A case under Section 379 B (snatching after preparation made for causing death, hurt or restraint in order to the committing of snatching) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against the unidentified accused at Sudhar police station.
