BPSC question leak: Three arrested from Delhi

With three more arrests, the number of people arrested in the BPSC question paper leak case till now has gone up to 14.

PATNA: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Economic Offence Unit (EoU) probing the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) question paper leak case, the preliminary exams of which were held on May 8 and were cancelled later, arrested three more people from New Delhi and brought them to Patna on Tuesday, an EoU official said.

With three more arrests, the number of people arrested in the case till now has gone up to 14.

According to EoU, additional director general (ADG) NH Khan, the arrested persons have been identified as Abhishek Tripathi, Mahesh Purve, and Praveen Kumar Yadav. “They have all been brought on transit remand obtained from the Tees Hazari court in New Delhi,” the ADG said.

Khan said that Yadav and Purve had appeared at the BPSC exam and they had got the PDF of question papers ahead of the exam on their WhatsApp, while Tripathi was a solver. “There was specific information that some of the accused have fled to Delhi and were hiding there. We came to know that the three had connections with other accused as well. They are all members of the gang that leaked the question paper,” said Khan.

Earlier, the SIT had arrested a key accused, Sanjay Kumar, who not only appeared as a dummy candidate in the exam but was also in constant touch with the kingpin Anand Gaurav alias Pintu Yadav, said Khan.
