MSEDCL official caught accepting ₹7,500 bribe
The ACB laid a trap and caught accused red-handed while allegedly accepting ₹7,500 from the complainant.
Pune: The anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested an additional executive engineer of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹7,500 from an electrical sub-contractor at the utility’s Hadapsar subdivision-2 office.

The accused has been identified as Ramchandra Narayan Londhe, 42.
According to officials, the complainant approached the ACB on June 2 alleging that Londhe had demanded ₹12,000 as bribe for facilitating work related to the installation of 12 new electricity meter connections. The engineer had demanded an additional ₹50,000 in connection with electricity supply work for another building project.
The ACB laid a trap and caught Londhe red-handed while allegedly accepting ₹7,500 from the complainant around 1 pm.
Officials said the accused has been taken into custody and the process of registering a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, at Phursungi police station is underway.
