PMC beautifies 7,000 sq feet plot at Prem Nagar slums

The space which was underutilised before, and mostly used for parking, has been converted into a vibrant public space under tactical urbanism initiative, says Rohit Gadia, a member of the initiative

PUNE The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), with the help of BRICK School of Architecture, has transformed a 7,000 square feet street space into a public space at Prem Nagar slums, Market Yard.

Rohit Gadia, a member of the initiative, said, “A 7,000 square feet street space has seen a colourful transformation in Premnagar slums in Market Yard. The space which was underutilised before, and mostly used for parking, has been converted into a vibrant public space under tactical urbanism initiative.”

“The initiative saw the light of the day with the support of MLA Sunil Kamble and PMC officials,” he said.

He said, “Currently, several activities have been planned for all age groups during a four-day event.”
