Pune: Man dies by suicide over harassment over loan repayment

As per the complaint filed by the victim’s wife, her husband had taken a loan of ₹7 lakh from the accused in 2021

A man in Pune’s Phursungi area died by suicide after he was harassed by people over the repayment of a loan he had taken, said officials on Wednesday.

According to police, the accused has been identified as Atul Babasaheb Suryawanshi, resident of Phursungi in Hadapsar.

As per the complaint filed by the victim’s wife, her husband had taken a loan of ₹7 lakh from the accused in 2021 and returned all money with interest.Even after that, the accused was harassing her husband over repayment of the loan, due to which he died by suicide on March 3.

Police sub-inspector Trupti Khalde of Hadapsar police station said that a case has been registered and probe is underway.

The case was registered on Tuesday under sections of 306,323,504,506 of the IPC.
