An akhand path, bhog, kitran and ardas were performed by the SGPC and sangat, at Jhanda Bunga Sahib gurdwara in the Golden Temple complex in a tribute to Beant Singh. On this occasion, Giani Balwinder Singh, SGPC’s chief secretary Dr Roop Singh and member of SGPC’s Dharam Prachar Committee Bhai Ajayab Singh also honoured the Beant’s family with a siropas (robes of honour). After the incident, Beant was shot while Satwant sustained serious injuries. Satwant, along with another co-conspirator Kehar Singh, was hanged to death on January 6.
