Off those last six balls, Dhoni smoked three sixes - one ball was smacked out of the ground and also a boundary.
Chennai Super Kings needed 70 in the final five overs, they needed 26 off the last over and yet, Royal Challengers Bangalore was under pressure. Umesh Yadav had the ball, MS Dhoni was on strike, and the crowd did not know when to blink.

It was everything a T20 match could have asked for, it was MS Dhoni winding the clock back and sending a reminder to everyone that he is alive and kicking. The finisher almost pulled off an amazing heist, but in this process, he notched up a couple of memorable milestones.
Dhoni’s unbeaten 84 off 48 balls is his highest-ever T20 score. Also, he became the first Indian to smack 200 sixes in IPL history with his tally of seven sixes which is also the joint-most by a batsman in an IPL innings.
With a tally of 203 sixes, he is just behind Chris Gayle (323) and AB de Villiers (204) in the all-time list. The CSK skipper also became the first captain score 4000 runs in IPL history.
“We did really well to restrict RCB to below par. I think it was more of a calculation mistake that we lost wickets early on. T20 is all about taking risks, but you can still calculate. I think it was still difficult at death if you bowl that back of the length. It was slightly spongy, it wasn’t coming on to the bat. A lot of boundaries were needed, right now you can calculate, one run there, and two runs there and we just lost by one run. But you can also say we missed some boundaries,” Dhoni said after the match.
