9:07 AM IST Over and out - The ceremony comes to a close with one final photograph, as all three teams come together for the cameras. That draws the curtains on the women's cricket chapter at the 2026 Asian Games. Still to come is the men's competition, which will feature 10 teams and begin with the group stage. The action will get underway on Thursday, 24th September with a double-header. First up, Afghanistan take on Japan at 12 am GMT (5.30 am IST). Japan, who came ever so close to stunning the reigning T20I champions, India, in their historic clash, will be a team to watch out for. 8:53 AM IST India take the top prize - It is now time for India to step onto the podium and receive their gold medals. It is a second straight gold medal for Harmanpreet Kaur and her side at the Asian Games, but it is about taking that next step and doing better on the global stage, with the Champions Trophy scheduled to be played in India next year. Anyway, it is now time for the Indian national anthem to be played out.

8:52 AM IST Another silver for Sri Lanka - Next, Chamari Athapaththu-led Sri Lanka receive their silver medals, along with a memento. It is their second successive silver medal since the sport returned to the Asian Games. They would have hoped for a different colour this time around, but it was not to be. As always, though, Chamari will be proud of her side's efforts.

8:52 AM IST Pakistan back on the podium - First up, it will be Pakistan, the bronze medallists, who will receive their medals as well as a mascot figurine as a memento. Pakistan missed out on a medal at the previous edition but have made it onto the podium this time around. Earlier today, Fatima Sana's side came out on top against Bangladesh to secure the bronze medal.

8:52 AM IST Here come the teams - The dignitaries lead the way as the three teams make their way out to the middle, wearing their official Asian Games jackets. Pakistan come out first, followed by India and then Sri Lanka. The stadium announcer introduces the dignitaries present, who will be on hand to present the medals to the players.
