Ajith Ram

S Ajith Ram is a left-arm orthodox spinner from Tamil Nadu who has developed a reputation as a dependable long-spell bowler. He came through the Tamil Nadu Under-19 and Under-23 setups before making his senior debut, gradually establishing himself through his accuracy, control and ability to create different angles from around the crease.

Ajith made his first-class debut for Tamil Nadu during the 2022-23 Ranji Trophy season and quickly made an impact. He was named Player of the Match against Saurashtra in January 2023 after playing a key role with the ball, picking up 6/54 in the fourth innings in Tamil Nadu's victory. His bowling style is built around patience and consistency, with his ability to bowl extended spells making him a valuable option in the longer format.

He has also featured regularly in the Tamil Nadu Premier League, representing franchises including Lyca Kovai Kings, SKM Salem Spartans and IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans. After missing the 2025-26 domestic season because of a knee injury suffered during the TNPL, Ajith underwent surgery and a lengthy rehabilitation before returning to competitive cricket through TNCA league cricket and the TNPL.

He was subsequently named among Tamil Nadu's Ranji Trophy probables for the 2026-27 season, giving him an opportunity to resume his domestic career after a difficult year on the sidelines.
