The Assembly constituted the two nine-member committees of legislators during the recently-concluded special session, after the ruling party MLAs raised the issue of corruption in the House.

Alleging corruption in the L-G’s decision to restore the licence of a ration shop in Burari that was cancelled by the food and supplies department, the Delhi Assembly had on June 9 set up a special inquiry committee to look into the allegations of irregularities involved in the case.

The next day, the Assembly appointed another committee of legislators to probe irregularities in Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) and Delhi Hockey— sports bodies administering over the game of cricket and hockey in the city.

The Delhi Assembly has now put public notices on behalf of the committees, soliciting information related to the issues.

“The committee solicits information/representations on the subject within 15 days of publication of this advertisement. Those desirous of submitting written or/and oral information on the subject before the committee may send their representations (in English or Hindi) to the deputy secretary, legislative assembly,” the public notice of the committees reads.

Delhi Assembly officials said the public notice is a routine process involved with all such inquiry panels. All representations will be forwarded to the committees for their perusal.

“As per the deadline fixed by the Speaker, both the committees have to file their report in the next session. Anybody who is in the know of anything related to these cases could send information. The terms of references for both the probe panels are available on the assembly website,” an official said.
