The Wildlife SOS Rapid Response Unit responded to a distress call on their 24-hour rescue helpline on Wednesday about a python that was found wandering on the premises of a farmhouse in Chhatarpur in South Delhi.

Shocked to discover the reptile in their front lawn, the panic stricken family contacted Wildlife SOS for help.

Rakesh Bhasin, who made the call said, “The python was spotted wandering in the neighbourhood. On seeing it make its way into our residence premises, our neighbour’s security staff immediately reported the incident to us. We often see snakes in this area but we have never come across such a huge reptile before.”

Two expert snake rescuers were rushed to the location and it took almost 30 minutes for them to catch hold of this python.

Kartick Satyanarayan, co-founder of Wildlife SOS, said, “We believe that the large constrictor had wandered out of the neighbouring forest, which is its natural habitat.
