2 found dead in separate incidents

A 21-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man were found murdered in two separate incidents reported from southeast Delhi on Friday, the police said. HT reports.

A 21-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man were found murdered in two separate incidents reported from southeast Delhi on Friday, the police said.

“The first incident was reported from Sangam Vihar. The victim has been identified as Sheetal Gupta. She was found unconscious at her house in the D block on Friday morning,” said a senior police officer requesting anonymity.

According to the police, Gupta, who was seven months pregnant, was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.

“According to her family’s allegations, her husband Pradeep is responsible for her death. We are waiting for the post-mortem report to ascertain the cause of death,” the officer said.

In a separate incident, a man’s body was found just 250m away from his house in southeast Delhi’s Madanpur Khadar extension area. The man, Rafiuddin, was reported missing two days ago.

The police suspect robbery to be the motive and have rounded up several people from the area for questioning.
