22-year-old attempts suicide

A 22-year-old civil services aspirant attempted to commit suicide by jumping off east Delhi's Akshardham flyover on Thursday evening, police said.

A 22-year-old civil services aspirant attempted to commit suicide by jumping off east Delhi's Akshardham flyover on Thursday evening, police said.

Identified as Pushpa Yadav, a resident of Kanehi Village near Gurgaon's Sector 45, the girl took a Metro till the Akshardham Metro station before taking the extreme step but, fortunately, survived.

"She was rushed to a nearby hospital with a fractured leg and discharged. She said she tried to end her life since she was very worried about her performance in the civil services examinations," said an officer.
