Anurag Singh, according to investigators, used to procure the CDRs of all his clients -- including businessmen and lower functionaries of several political parties - in addition to the CDRs of those whom he was being paid to access in the interests of ‘corporate espionage’.

“He was apparently doing this to expand the base of his clientele, enlarge his own database of CDRs and to ensure that he would be in a position to be ready to cater to the demands of future clients approaching him,” said an officer.

Around 52 CDRs have so far been recovered from him.

On February 19, Singh, who runs a detective agency at Connaught Place, was arrested for his involvement in the case.
