"The delay of four-hours of the Delhi-Patna flight (IC-407) due to technical reasons is being investigated to fix accountability and to prevent recurrence," the airline's newly-appointed Chairman and Managing Director Arvind Jadav said in a statement on Thursday.

Jadhav has also sincerely regretted the delay and apologised to the passengers of the flight for the inconvenience suffered by them.

Air India's flight to Patna returned from take-off point as it developed some technical fault and subsequently the arranging an alternative flight and off-loading baggage of three passengers led to the delay of the flight.
