Airhostess hangs self after father scolds her
A 19-year-old airhostess allegedly committed suicide at her Hari Nagar residence in west Delhi, after her father chided her for returning late from a party, the police said.
A 19-year-old airhostess allegedly committed suicide at her Hari Nagar residence in west Delhi, after her father chided her for returning late from a party, the police said.
The victim, identified as Raunak Gulati, worked with Indigo Airlines. According to the police, Gulati, along with her brother, had gone to attend a party on Friday night.
The incident was reported around 1pm on Saturday, when the family members went to call her for lunch. Gulati’s room was found locked from inside.
“The police were called in and the door was forced open. She was found hanging from the ceiling of her room,” said a senior police officer.
Although no suicide note was found, the police said she could have taken the extreme step after her father scolded her.
Gulati used one of her long scarves to hang herself.
The police said the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination and further investigations are on.
