Talking to reporters here, he said that the alliance would be decided at the time of elections. Moreover, the opinion and desire of all the leaders and cadre from Tamil Nadu would be placed before Sonia, who alone would take a final decision on the alliance.

The present alliance, however, was strong and would continue in future, he said, adding that this combination had won all the by-elections held in the State.

He also thanked Tamil Nadu chief minister, M Karunanidhi for his statement that taking other political parties into this alliance would be decided only after consulting CongressHigh Command.

Thangkabalu, here to discuss with the workers about the scheduled public meeting in Tiruchirapalli on Oct nine, where Sonia was participating, said that this meeting was not (not) to show the strength of the party or to compete with the DMK and AIADMK, which had also held meeting in this town.
