A gang of four, found to be involved a series of cases ranging from murder to robbery across three states, and a suspended junior engineer (JE) of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), who used to provide them a safe haven at his farmhouse in south Delhi, were apprehended by the Crime Branch on Wednesday.

Sandeep Goel, joint commissioner of police (crime) identified the arrested as Dharmender (31), Devender (33), Vikram (26), Jaswant Singh (45) and Mandeep (25).
“There was information that gangsters of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh are being provided shelter in Delhi by Jaswant Singh, a suspended junior engineer of MCD’s slum department at his farmhouse in Vasant Kunj. This information was further developed, a trap was laid near the said farmhouse on Tuesday, the gang’s vehicle intercepted and five persons apprehended,” Joint CP Goel said.
Joint CP Goel said a self-loading rifle (SLR) of 7.62 bore with 8 live cartridges, a .9 MM carbine with 28 live cartridges, a .12 bore double barrel shotgun with 5 live cartridges, two revolvers of .38 bore with ten live cartridges, a pistol of 7.65 bore with 9 live cartridges, and a country-made gun with 13 live cartridges were recovered from them.
