Political career: Ahuja began his political innings with the Youth Congress, which he joined in 1972. In the 80s, he moved to the Congress Sewa Dal where he remained till 2003 in various organisational positions. He got a ticket to the Delhi Assembly elections for the first time in 2003 and won from the Sarojini Nagar seat.
Family: Wife Savita Ahuja is a homemaker. They have three sons and a daughter. His sons have taken over the family business. Daughter is married.
Cars: Ahuja travels in a white Ambassador. Family owns a Toyota Qualis. Sons drive a Tata Indica, Hyundai Santro and Maruti Esteem.
