Muhammed got to interact closely with the curious couple, who were quite eager to know about the mausoleum.

“It is the monument which has been recognised for both its historical importance and architectural merit,” he said. While he walked the US first couple to the main mausoleum, the US President asked him, "How many years did it take to build?"

"Seven years after the work started in 1554" was Muhammed's answer.

“It would have been impossible for the Americans to complete it in seven years,” the President quipped.

The only question that the US first lady asked was about the type of stone used in the monument. “The monument is made up of white marble, Delhi quartzite and red sand stone,” was Muhammed’s answer.
