A recent notification by the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi on the eligibility of using the red and blue beacon and flashers has given the sub-divisional magistrates the right to use blue beacons with flashers. But the use of red beacon with flashers continued to be restricted to a select few.

According to the notification, the divisional commissioner will be allowed to use red beacon with flasher while deputy commissioner (revenue) and SDMs will be allowed to use blue beacon with flasher.

These additions have been made to the old notification of February 2003.
