Seeing an attempt to exaggerate any report relating to Modi, BJP spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman said that a leading English daily's clarification over a news article relating to his "Rambo" act wasn't up to the mark.

The English daily that carried the story of Modi rescuing 15,000 people as "Rambo" admitted that the figure was not about people "rescued" from Uttarakhand by Modi but given help in different ways, including food, shelter, medicine and transport.

"To explain a boomeranged Rambo Act, a corner of page 9, close to the fold and deep inside, is indisputably, the best suited," Sitharaman added.

She then went on to compare this to the recent "puppy" controversy in the wake of Modi's interview. "Modi the chief minister doing his duty... doesn't seem to matter. The party that he is the leader of doesn't matter. The state and its people who elected him don't matter. His very name is cannon fodder!"
