"We all respect Parliament. But the leaders who went there categorically said law-making must be done by Parliament alone," BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said.

"But it's equally important that the country is pained at the series of massive corruption of the government. If the leaders went there to have a dialogue with them, what is wrong?" Prasad said.

The BJP leader added, "As far as Parliament's dignity is concerned, we don't have to learn from the Congress".

A debate on the draft Lokpal Bill was on Sunday held at Jantar Mantar where Anna Hazare sat on a day-long token fast. BJP leader Arun Jaitley, Janata Dal-United leader Sharad Yadav, Left leaders AB Bardhan, Brinda Karat and D Raja and many others participated in the debate, which was given a miss by the Congress and its allies.
