The Congress on Wednesday took a dig at the "Congress silence on corruption".
BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Husain said that just like the two-India formulation of Rahul Gandhi, the Congress believed there were two kinds of people: aam aadmi (the poor) and adarsh (literally 'ideal', but hinting at the Adarsh society scam) aadmi, who were represented by Suresh Kalmadi and Ashok Chavan.
"The Congress has become an agency where corruption as well as the probe are done by its own members. Chori aur chowkidari ek saath nahin chal sakti (you can be the thief as well as the cop)," Husain said.
Party president Nitin Gadkari said that cost escalations relating to the Commonwealth Games projects were approved by the concerned ministries, the PMO as well as the cabinet, thus implicating the
entire ruling establishment in what the party calls the CWG scam.
