In the first incident, a speeding bus crushed a student and injured three of his friends at New Ashok Nagar near Mayur Vihar Phase III on Thursday. Sumit Kumar Verma was a Class VIII student of a government school and used to live in Kondli.
"Verma had gone to attend a marriage along with his three friends -- Nitin, Rizwan and Vicky. They were crossing the road when a Blueline bus on route number 355 plying between Nand Nagri and Hauz Khas hit them. Sumit died on the spot while others three sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital where they were discharged after first-aid," the police said.
The driver fled from the spot.
In the second incident, a Blueline bus crushed a 50-year-old man in Shakarpur on Thursday night. The victim, Nand Raj, was a resident of Laxmi Nagar. The bus, plying on route number 740 between Uttam Nagar and Anand Vihar, hit him from behind.
