Britannia develops energy snack for anaemic children
Biscuit maker Britannia Industries today said it has developed a highly fortified energy snack under 'Tiger' brand specially for children suffering from iron deficiency.
Biscuit maker Britannia Industries on Tuesday said it has developed a highly fortified energy snack under 'Tiger' brand specially for children suffering from iron deficiency.

The company said it has tied up with the Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry state governments to supply these biscuits as part of various mid-day meal programmes in the region.
"We have developed an energy snack, which is highly fortified with iron required to give to those children which are highly deficient in iron...," Britannia Industries Managing Director Vinita Bali told reporters here.
Asked if the company will be looking at selling the product in the market, Bali said the biscuit has been developed for malnourished children and not for general masses.
"We already have fortified products that we sell in the market as per WHO standards. These are high level of fortification and they are given to those children who suffer from severe anaemia," she said.
Besides, the company is looking at tying up with several other state governments for supplying the biscuit.
Asked if the company is looking at increasing the price of its products on the back of high input costs, particularly that of sugar, Bali said: "We increase our prices continuously. We don't have a date, which says on this day we are going to increase our prices. Pricing is a dynamic variable for us."
