The arrested brothers have been identified as Amit and Ashu of Prem Nagar. They ran a jeans factory in an outer Delhi area.
On December 17, the two allegedly killed their rival, Jitender, by stabbing him in the chest with a pair of scissors. Jitender was celebrating the birthday of his niece in his house with his brother, Karan, and friends when the incident took place.
DCP (outer) BS Jaiswal said Jitender was in the party when his brother Karan received a missed call on his mobile phone from an unknown number. “Karan called back at the number. The person on the call abused him and threatened to kill him. He asked Karan to meet him outside his house. When Karan went there, the accused started assaulting him. Hearing his brother’s shrieks, Jitender came to karan’s rescue and in the process he was stabbed by Amit,” said Jaiswal.
