Around 4,550 “modern, earthquake-resistant and technically advanced housing units” of various types will be constructed in place of the existing houses, an official spokesperson said.

The project will be implemented through National Buildings’ Construction Corporation Ltd (NBCC), a

government undertaking, in four years.

At present, there is an acute shortage of houses for government employees, especially in the National Capital Region (NCR).
