The police said a man went to the office of the Mannapuram Group of Companies on the pretext of taking a loan. He then went outside on the pretext of drinking water and after a while returned along with armed associates. "They overpowered the guard, snatched his rifle, made the people present in the office hostage and fled after looting 11 kgs of gold and Rs 3 lakh in cash," the police said.

The police said the miscreants broke the guard's rifle and left it at the spot before fleeing. A case has been lodged at the Shalimar Bagh police station.
