Rathi, a resident of Delhi, was on May 2 at the Mumbai railway station when she was attacked with acid. She succumbed to her injuries on June 2.

“It (transferring the case to CBI) will reassure the victim’s family about the government’s earnestness in bringing the guilty to book at the earliest. Please direct your police department to hand over the investigation case to the CBI urgently so that justice could be done in the matter expeditiously,” said Kiran Walia.
