CISF helps Delhi’s IGI airport emerge as one of world’s best

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has been instrumental in improving the working of the Delhi airport — it did everything from making passengers feel more secure to reducing the waiting time at security checks to ensure that its staff remained courteous to travellers.

So much so that it has helped the Delhi airport become the second best airport in the world in a survey conducted by an international agency.

Based on flyers’ feedback, the CISF scored 4.59 on a scale of 5 in the survey. Last year, the CISF had scored 4.34.
The survey was carried out by the Airports Council International (ACI) for its Airport Service Quality (ASQ) awards for 2012.

The CISF personnel were judged on four criteria — courteous and helpful behaviour, thorough security and inspection, waiting time at the security check and feeling of being safe and secure.

“It was difficult to perform well in every field as thoroughness in inspection would mean an increase in waiting time,” a CISF official said.

“This recognition is a testimony to all our employees and partners,” I Prabhakara Rao, CEO, DIAL said.
