Conveyor belt malfunctions at T3, 1 injured

One person — a maintenance worker — suffered injuries after a short circuit was reported at the conveyor belt at Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) on Saturday morning.

One person — a maintenance worker — suffered injuries after a short circuit was reported at the conveyor belt at Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) on Saturday morning.

“Due to a malfunction at an electrical substation, check-in rows A, C and G were being used. Baggages from those belts have been re-routed. An employee who was engaged in the maintenance work at the power station was injured,” said a spokesperson of Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL).

“He was immediately given first aid and was subsequently moved to the hospital for further treatment.

“The operation of the affected baggage belts will resume soon,” he added.
