Cop nabbed for harassing DU student

A police personnel reportedly posted in the CBI was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly harassing a Delhi University student in south Delhi's Defence Colony area.

The arrested officer has been identified as Kamal Ahmed; he was arrested from outside a college in Defence Colony area.

Ahmed, a police officer said, was harassing the victim by sending her unwanted messages through a social networking site.

On Wednesday, the complainant was out with her friends when Ahmed arrived and started passing lewd comments at her.

"The girl approached the staff of a PCR van and told them about the matter. The PCR staff immediately swung into action and nabbed him,” said the officer, adding that a case under section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) was registered.
