In the first two hours of the Day 1 of drive against ticketless travel, Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) teams Monday caught 411 people - 189 of them police personnel, armymen and government staff.

"Our team caught a group of 15 army officers who travelled from Pragati Maidan and to Udyog Bhawan without ticket," Delhi transport minister Ramakant Goswami said, adding most police and military men believed they were allowed free rides but that wasn't the case.

The government was losing Rs. 1 crore a days as 30% passengers were not paying, he said.
