According to the police, the incident was discovered when the shopkeepers came to open their shops on Thursday morning.

The police said that they suspect the role of the guard employed by these shopkeepers as he was missing since the incident. The police said that the locks to the shutters of these shops were broken and cash and other valuables were missing.

The police strongly suspect the role of the guard as they found empty liquor bottles in one of the shops.

“We believe that the guard helped the thieves in breaking and entering into the shops. We have sent teams to look for the accused and trace the guard,” said a senior police officer, requesting anonymity.

The police said the guard was not sent for any verification and is a resident of Nepal.
