Delhi govt okays 31 projects

The Delhi government on Wednesday sanctioned 31 projects worth Rs. 584 crore. The Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) of the government, chaired by CM Sheila Dikshit, gave its nod to 27 projects of the PWD and four projects of Irrigation and Flood Control department.

The Delhi government on Wednesday sanctioned 31 projects worth Rs. 584 crore. The Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) of the government, chaired by CM Sheila Dikshit, gave its nod to 27 projects of the PWD and four projects of Irrigation and Flood Control department.

"Our government has initiated an ambitious road infrastructure development programme with an estimated cost of over Rs. 2,000 crore. The mega project is to be completed within the next two years. The city government is concerned about the roads transferred to it by the corporations. The roads are in bad shape.Hence, the government has decided to take up improvement works on 26 such roads at an estimated cost of Rs. 492 crore," said Dikshit.

In addition, the EFC has approved widening of Mehrauli-Mahipalpur Road from Andheria More to Masood Pur with an estimated cost of Rs. 58.21 crore.
