Delhi Government today pulled up the discoms for failing to properly maintain street lights in their areas of operation.

Delhi Government today pulled up the discoms for failing to properly maintain street lights in their areas of operation.

PWD Minister Raj Kumar Chouhan gave the discoms time till October 10 to make all the high mast street lights operational across the city.

At a meeting with top officials of the private distribution companies, the minister said 60 per cent of high mast lights are not functioning in the city.

Power secretary Rajendra Babu assured the minister that within five days all the high mast lights will be made functional.

The minister also informed in the meeting that no road cutting would be allowed to lay electricity cables under newly constructed roads.
