Delhi Metro too may hike fares

People travelling on the Delhi Metro may have some bad news in store. After the bus fare hike, Metro may also effect an increase in its fare and a decision in this regard is expected soon.

After the bus fare hike, Metro may also effect an increase in its fare and a decision in this regard is expected soon.

Delhi Government sources said a committee has been appointed to look into the issue and the DMRC board will soon take a decision.

After the fare hike, the minimum fare on the Metro is likely to be Rs 8 as against the current Rs 6, while the maximum fare may be hiked to Rs 32 as against the current Rs 22, the sources said.

Passengers taking the Metro feeder buses will also have to shell out extra money. The minimum fare of Rs 5 may be hiked to Rs 8 and Rs 8 ticket to Rs 10.
