Delhi police nabs nine of ATM gang looters

With the arrest, the crime branch has managed to solve 20 cases of snatching that occurred in Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.

“Two firearms, knives, chilli powder, three motorcycles and a scooter were also recovered from them. They used two-wheelers for travelling from one city to another. They generally travelled on Sundays and on government holidays as banks remain closed on these days,” Ashok Chand, DCP (Crime) said.

Police said the gang stayed in one city for just four to five days and generally followed the Moradabad-Ghaziabad-Gurgaon-Alwar-Jaipur-Ajmer-Ahmedabad route and return back the same path. All the gang members belong to Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh and are active in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat to commit crime.

The arrested have been identified as Sanjay (35), Satpal (25), Brijpal (30), Rattan (52), Sandeep (23), Dalip (37), Bhanu Pratap (42), Rohit (19) and Pawan Singh (19). The leader, Sanjay, is involved in at least 16 other criminal cases.
