SRDC will be organising two heritage walks on the theme of sufism in Nizamuddin and Mehrauli, the two of the oldest areas in the Capital on June 25 and 26 respectively. Both walks are free and start at 8 am.

The Nizamuddin walk would cover the tomb complex of Chausath Khamba, tomb of Atgah Khan and several other places within the central complex of dargah of Hazarat Nizamuddin Auliya. The walk at Mehrauli Archaeological Park would comprise the Rajon Ki Baoli (step well of masons), a mughal era tomb that become the summer house of British resident Metcalfe and the tomb and the mosque in the memory of Sufi saint Jamali Kamali, said a release.

SRDC has been incorporated by the Delhi Government for creating a civic movement on developing sense of belongingness towards heritage of Delhi among all sections of the society. Delhi chief minister initiated SRDC, which is headed by chief secretary PK Tripathi.
