Education: MBBS from MGM Medical College, Indore.

Political Career: The late Congress leader HKL Bhagat initiated Walia into politics. Walia used to organise political meetings before being entrusted with more tasking responsibilities. It was Bhagat who rallied for Walia and got him a ticket to contest the 1993 assembly polls. Walia won not only in 1993 but also in 1997 and 2003 assembly elections.

Family: Walia is a bachelor. Both his parents are dead. He has a brother and a sister.

Cars: Walia gets a white Ambassador with red beacon. He does not own any other car. “Being a bachelor my material needs are
limited,” he said.
