Brijesh Kumar, 45, hailing from Bhondsi’s Maruti Kunj, was returning with his family and relatives from Delhi when the incident took place around 1.30am. The impact was such that Kumar’s three-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Sanskriti, died on the spot.

The rest of the family was seriously injured and rushed to Neelkanth hospital in DLF City Phase 3. They were later referred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi.

The four people travelling in the Wagon R fled, leaving their car from which whisky bottles were later recovered. A witness said they were so drunk that they couldn’t even walk properly.

A case has been registered on the complaint of the Omni car’s driver. “We are conducting raids to arrest the accused," said Hardeep Singh, SHO at Sector 29 police station.
