The university administration has decided to start e-Open Days for the benefit of those who are not from Delhi.

The administration has decided to shoot videos where student volunteers will give out information about courses and colleges. These videos will then be uploaded on the university website — www.du.ac.in — and can be accessed 24X7.

“All information will be available on the uploaded videos. Any changes in the admission process will be highlighted. Any student with access to internet can get information about the admission process while sitting hundreds of kilometres away,” said JM Khurana, dean of students’ welfare.

Open days are held in the last week of May where presentations about courses are held. Volunteers respond to queries of students and parents. It provides detailed knowledge of the different courses and colleges before the actual admission process begins.

“The Open Day helps clear students’ doubts and also gives them an idea about their choice of courses. It also tells students about career prospects of different courses,” said Khurana.

The ‘e-Open Days’ are expected to start from the second or third week of May.

“Dynamic and static information will be available on the open day page of the website. Any new and important dates will be regularly updated while the course and college profiles will remain the same,” said Gurpreet Singh Tuteja, deputy dean, students’ welfare.

Meanwhile, students have started approaching the office of the dean, students’ welfare, with queries about courses and the admission procedure.

“Since the board examinations ended, students and parents are coming to us every day for information about courses and colleges already,” Tuteja said.
