Police said members of the Delhi University Teachers' Association (DUTA) prevented Vice-Chancellor Deepak Pental from attending a function, which was also being attended by Vice President Hamid Ansari.
DUTA members were protesting Pental’s continuation in office, since he completed his term as VC on Tuesday.
"Since we were not allowed to enter the programme venue, we sat outside the VC's office," said Abha Dev Habib, a DUTA member. The teachers were later released.
