The parking area can accommodate 90 cars at a time and is divided into two blocks — two-level block (50 cars) and three-level block (40 cars). The Rs1.5-crore project is spread over across about 1,050 sqm and has 100% power back up.

The parking lot has been built in the style of puzzle in the thickly-populated area of Arya Nagar which is close to the Paharganj side of New Delhi Railway Station.

After inaugurating the project, Mayor Rajni Abbi said: “Municipal Corporation of Delhi is concerned and conscious about shrinking parking space in the city. We have constructed this multi-level stack parking on a pilot project basis and its success will help the civic body go for more such projects.”

Leader of the opposition in Delhi Legislative Assembly, Professor Vijay Kumar Malhotra, was the chief guest on the occasion. Private firm Simplex Projects Ltd completed the project in nearly 12 months and it will operate and maintain the system for three years, MCD officials said.
