Foundation stone for housing complex laid

The foundation stone for construction of Bapu Dham Housing Complex at Chanakyapuri for group four employees of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) was laid on Saturday.

The foundation stone for construction of Bapu Dham Housing Complex at Chanakyapuri for group four employees of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) was laid on Saturday.

The existing Bapu Dham complex, constructed in 1969, comprises 288 type I quarters in four- storey buildings in 19 blocks. The proposed complex consists of 10 blocks with six seven-storey blocks, while the rest would be eight-storey. There would be 296 type I flats each of 49.63 sq metres.

“The cost of the project is Rs 40 crore and it is likely to be completed within 42 months,” NDMC said in a release here. NDMC chairperson laid the foundation stone in the presence of Tajdar Babar, vice-chairperson and MLA Karan Singh Tanwar.
