The car caught fire after it was hit by a speeding trailer from behind and crashed into a truck in front of it on National Highway 8, police said. The accident led to a massive traffic jam for around six hours by which time the mangled remains of the car were removed, the police added.

The occupants were identified as Ishwar Lal Gupta (55), his son Ankit Gupta (22), Ankit’s friend Kapil (23) and their driver Arun Kumar (24).
Police said Gupta — a resident of Narela in northwest Delhi — had gone to Jaipur along with his son and his friend as the two had to appear for an engineering entrance examination on Sunday.
“When their car reached Manesar, a speeding trailer hit them from behind.... The trailer’s driver fled from the spot,” said a senior police officer.
